I need to relocate in order to move up the ladder faster and get promoted to a director position.. moving away from Phx which I love, to cities like Idaho, Seattle , Denver , etc.. go out of my comfort zone and live somewhere where I wouldn’t live in a normal situation.
Well, nothing great comes your way without sacrifice in some form.
Well, how about finding company that has bigger campus there?
I was told the same thing. In order to become an executive, I needed to move to HQ, despite being in SF and scoring the highest in years in an executive training program

If you haven't found some in phx, then definitely moving should be on your mind. People move states countries and continents all the time for work (even in case where it's not for a promotion, but for a better job/life opportunity).
I am a director and looking for VP roles and yes most of them require moving. I dont think it is crazy to move, but the money needs to make sense. In theory that job could be your last role before retirement if you are saving and a FIRE type. 3-5 years then go live where ever you want.
