I work closely with my company’s HR department. We have struggled through a few projects together and I have found it very difficult to get them to create content or give truly insightful feedback. In addition, during project meetings gossip-like conversations about employees have occurred. It’s a small company, and if for any reason I needed support from HR tomorrow (serious illness, difficult employees, negotiating role redefinition), I would not feel comfortable going to the department. Any advice?
HR is generally not super helpful at any company.
HR's purpose is to protect the company from its employees. Full stop. That might be why they aren't enthusiastic about helping you.
HR’s purpose is to be a shitstain to the employees
Get them fired
