Travel outside US during H1 transfer

My current H1B visa is valid for next two years. Can i travel and return back with my current visa stamp and later decide to join the new company? Do I need to show the new I-797 approval/rejection at the port of entry even if I have not joined and what would happen in that case? TC: 190K 10 yoe

You have approval of the transfer already ? If yes then I guess you can. I am not an immigration attorney though so consult one

If you travel before leaving the current company, then you need the current I797 hard copy to enter. If you leave your current job and then go out, you’d need the new I797 approval letter to reenter. In both cases, old visa stamp is enough.
