Thinking about going there for the new year vacation for a week. Will appreciate any travel tips/advices.

P.S. I have no almost no idea about India as a country, like even which city to go.

      Did you call your senators?

I never asked any specific race to GTFO

Also, I don't represent everyone who lives or are from India. I have my own personality and Morales.

You should first join Breitbart and stop being copy cat.

      Now go call your senators!

Honest advice. Don't go. It's extremely dangerous for foreigners.. and this is coming from someone who has lived in the slums of Mumbai.

Delhi, Agra, Rishikesh (if you want to try meditation/yoga etc), Varanasi, Rajasthan/Jaipur,Udaipur, down south maybe Kerala, Andaman. If you are feeling adventurous, you can try J&K, or East like Assam.

Please Don't suggest Goa. There so many better beaches here.

J&K? Really? At this time? Mind you, OP knows nearly nothing about India and would be traveling there for the first time

Assam as well. They both have Department of state advisories.

More like Suicidal. Assam probably will be adventurous though. He can see the rhinos on an elephant at Kaziranga.

Do the Golden triangle - Delhi, Agra, Jaipur. That would be more than enough for a week. Stay in palatial hotels and get yourself pampered.

Do Delhi, Agra if u want to experience cultural/historical heritage of india. If u want to just chill and drink(on beaches) then go to Goa, Mumbai. If u want to see greenery/ forest then go for south indian hill stations like mysore/ooty/kodaikannal

Mysore isn't a hill station. It's a planned city, lots of palaces and things to do.. but not a hill station

    • New pOAU72
Yes right my bad. It's near ooty kodaikannal so you can see both natural beauty and historical heritage.

  • Go to tahiand instead. Unless you are Indian or you don't care much many of the things you have living on a western country, there is not much for you there.

Don't. Too crowded, traffic, polluted, pretty bad travel infrastructure once you get off a plane. Amazing place back in the day, these days every time I go, I don't want to go anywhere. I just go to meet relatives.

Depends on how adventurous you are. There is plenty to see and do.

OP, it depends on what you want out of India. Different states offer different things. Do you like palaces and want to stay in one? Rajasthan is the place? Do you want to visit places that are naturally beautiful? Go to Delhi and plan a trip for Himachal, and Uttarakhand. An alter route would be to visit Sikkim and travel around north-east India. You can do the same in Kerala as well. Tamilnadu has lot of beautiful cultural places that demand a visit. If you can be specific then I can recommend some.

I would steer clear of the Delhi region, it is dissssgusssting (I had to go a few times for work). Why not go somewhere beautiful like Bali?

New year vacation - Goa, if you want safe chill beaches. Opportunity to meet lot of Western (mostly Brits and Russians) tourists. Not too far from Mumbai, where you can experience the stuff you see in the movies. You can't do more than that in a week. Maybe a quick flight to see the Taj (which is overrated)
