Trying to switch careers

I orginally wanted to go to school to work in Investment Banking and Mergers and Acquisitions. While going to college though, the company I've been at kept promoting me so I never wanted to leave. Now I want to leave but I think I might have missed my opportunity because from everything I've read or heard, you have to need to intern first to get into that field. I've started a family so being an intern wouldnt work. Any other suggestions? Thank you in advance!

Why do you want to get into ibanking? Money? Prestige? What's your drive? Keep in mind that ibanking has some of the worst retention rates of any career so your reason better be strong.

MBA is your only option. Good luck balancing family and IB

You might have to take a hit in your pay to do that but it would pay off eventually.. MBA is a sham.. try doing CFA and do lot of networking or scour through Wall Street Oasis forum on how to get into IB or PE.. you can also try some of the Masters courses on Financial Engineering if your Math is strong
