Depends on teams and opportunities.

Well you already had reached L4 at Amazon with SDE2.

You won’t make 300k as a newly promoted L4 either. But if you’re happy with your team and like Google then I can understand not taking the risk of moving. From what people say about Amazon here there’s a good chance you’d burn out on them in a few months anyway.

Blind exaggerates. Workload is not that different. Just a higher chance of managers you can't get along with in one vs the other.

Why would amazon offer you 300k coming as L3 from google?

The interview went really well

Amazon SDE II total comp top band is 220k or so. How are they offering 300k?

Amazon 3736ryej Sep 27, 2019

I'm calling shenanigans.

Amazon XsfM45 Sep 28, 2019

Amazon doesn’t offer 300k otherwise u are crazy to give up a guaranteed 100k raise

Google is better. After two years you have to deal with terrible comp structure anyway.

Microsoft Vbsm66 Sep 28, 2019

No. You won't make 300K even after you get promoted to L4. At best you'll make slightly higher base, with no additional stock grant.
