The context of this is S.386. It is a bill that has broad bipartisan support with an unprecedented over 60% of House and Senate members as co sponsors. The bill proposes to introduce fairness in the legal immigration system without cauosng any increase to current immigration levels.

Yeah the senator said immigrants should not fight against each other. The 140k EB visa cap is arbitrary. But, immigrants should stand in separate lines based on their country/race and The 7% country cap is totally not arbitrary. Totally racist. Giving GC to one country and you call it fairness?
1) This bill doesnât offer green cards to one country. 2) Why is it ok for some one to have to wait 150 years to get a green card just because of an arbitrary thing such as their place of birth being in India? That said, regardless of the policy, this is a senior US Senator laughing with some one who is mocking people waiting in a legal green card queue. People who are doing their jobs, contributing to community, paying taxes. Letâs talk about pros and cons. Letâs debate virtues and ideals. But, when basic civics are flouted, people will become divisive. We begin to loose our sense of identity as one community. Realistically, think about it do we want to hate our fellow humans this much? Are we so short sighted?
Letâs not. The system is fair. Good bye. We accept millions of people annually, stop teaching us and criticizing.
