Interviewed ya USAA last week. Not the first time I have interviewed there. They told me if I had other offers, to take them and not wait on USAA. I thought the interview went quite well. Anyone interview with USAA? How long did it take you to get final feedback?
That's a legit question, why?
I've seen it varies some. Mine took around 2 weeks but that was a few years back
Well Usaa was a bust. Thought I killed it on the interview. Guess I will keep applying elsewhere. :)
I’m under the impression that a lot of developers are contractors. Devs don’t move up at USAA.
That’s interesting. I was told 98% of all lead devs were internal promotion
Devs are promoted on politics, favoritism, and how well you can brown nose. There's a handful of good ones, but the general internal perception is that most leads know how to talk and take credit for devs and contractors work.
Hi OP - pls run, don’t think of joining, I work as a contractor, I was offered FTE but I am not joining. It’s a messed up work culture. You neither earn nor learn. However if you are looking for coasting, then you can.
Why in the world would you move from Apple to USAA?
Maybe they work in retail? But yeah, I wouldn't bother with USAA if you're dev. Huge downgrade. They don't even call their SDEs the correct title and pay them hourly.
Why move? Cost of living much better in San Antonio is better than Austin plus my department blows.
