    30% discount off rides. Eats too I believe but I haven’t confirmed it’s 30%.

I use both regularly. It’s awesome.

They were and not everyone had them. When I found that out it was super awkward and I thought it was very f’d up. Glad we can all share these now.

Lyft gets $200 in ride credits/month. You get taxed on any credits you use, which gets deducted from your paycheck.
    Aug 11, 20188
    • Lyft frt34878
Not quite right. The credits you use count as income, and are added to your paycheck. This is then taxed.
      Aug 11, 2018
    • Lyft khxl17
Is that not the same? The amount of greenbacks you get on payday is smaller if you use your credits than if you don’t. So the tax on the credits is a deduction, in common speak.
      Aug 11, 2018
    • Amazon / OpsOpsDeck
No not the same, what your implying is that the credit is deducted every paycheck. Credits that are used during the whole year are added to your W-2 as a bonus then deducted out from your yearly earnings.

    • Amazon / OpsOpsDeck
I know it says amazon but just joined the Lyft team.

    • Lyft frt34878
They’re actually added to your biweekly paycheck, which can put you in a different tax bracket week-to-week, depending on how much you use. This is why your take home can be smaller than when you don’t use credits.
      Aug 12, 2018
    • Lyft frt34878
khxl17, it’s not the same as what the OP said, because they implied a deduction. It’s actually an additional income.
      Aug 12, 2018
    • Lyft / EngvCYR8
When I said deducted, I meant that you pay for the taxes of the credits you use and that amount is taken out of your paycheck (deducted, subtracted, removed, etc). The amount of your net paycheck will vary depending on how many credits you use per pay period. I never implied that it was a tax “deduction”.
      Aug 12, 2018
    • It is not deducted from your paycheck. When you file taxes at the end of the year it will be additional taxable income and increase your tax liability. If you were going to get a refund you will get a smaller refund.

Edit: at least I think that's how it works, it just occurred to me that I've never actually looked at my pay statement 😂

Can’t reveal my title but yes sometimes we have crunch time so team stays late which I would say maybe once/twice a quarter. Definitely, good culture and great growth opportunities, I’ve heard especially in Level5 Autonomy teams

Can you at least say if you're in SF or Palo Alto? Obviously I would totally understand if you can't reveal that

Does lyft sf get breakfast everyday?
      Aug 13, 2018
    • Lyft community
There's cereal, fruit, packaged toast/bagels everyday. On Wednesdays there are fresh bagels from a deli.
      Aug 14, 2018
    • Are the $130 commuter benefits straight up paid out or is that the whole pretax thru wageworks account?

Also, does Lyft SF have a gym on campus or any gym reimbursement?

Asking as I’ll be joining Lyft in the near future :)

The lease program has better conditions (no long term commitments) and significant discount. Cannot share the exact number here though
