Uber didn't let me use the toilet
Recently I have been interviewed with Uber. Interestingly when I was going to the 4th floor of 1455 building in SF, they didn't allow me there. They asked me to find toilet in nearby Starbucks. I had to rush to Starbuck bought a coffee, who knows whether they would let me pee otherwise, than rushed to the uber office. The interviewer was waiting already and told me I should not have delayed. I haven't received the interview result yet but God knows why would they not let me pee. TC 290k L6 SDE, Seattle
They were afraid you'd sue them for not having a gender neutral restroom
Was it the lobby people or the actual interviewer? The building is not owned by uber and since there are 4+ companies at 1455 there are no public bathrooms (for security reasons). You would’ve absolutely gotten the chance once you were brought up to the 4th floor.

I am not sure who stopped me but definitely someone from uber but not the interviewer. He left immediately after the interview and showed me the direction where to go to the toilet.
Here is how it works. You register at the entrance and then you are greeted by the host, who meets you. If it's a host you know who they are and the host would definitely let you use the bathroom. Asking a random person gets you random answer. That's pretty much how it works anywhere.

I would flag the experience. There is no reason why not let you use the restroom, we would want the candidate to be as comfortable as possible. Hopefully the interviews were nice, did you mention the incident to HM ?
