How many of you is going to sell off / expecting a massive sell off?

Are you staying or leaving? Heard about the recent lay offs... Any more to come?

  • Gonna HODL for a long time and keep working hard and building. There is much potential I think the public isn’t valuing but that’s just my opinion :)

    • It’s a set of product that lets business pay for the rides of their employees and sometimes their customers. Imagine a big consulting or accounting firm like Deloitte or PWC. They have hundreds of thousands of employees traveling every week and taking uber’s around wherever they go. This lets the company for them without receipts and reimbursement and also gives the company visibility and control over their expenditures. On the customer side, imagine a sushi restaurant or department store wants to pay for the rides of its customers to attract people to physically come to their store. They can do that with u4b products. There is huge potential!!

      Ohhhhh that’s interesting

Although that by itself kinda sounds like a pretty small portion of the entire Uber revenue? Or am I wrong? I have the impression that most people get Uber for personal trips...

    • I can’t share data but you’d be surprised at how spending habits change when you’re using company money instead of your own. People are cheap with their personal uber’s so they opt for pool. When a business traveler lands in JFK and wants to take an X or Uber Black to get to Manhattan and there company is paying for it, behavior is different. But on top of that the business travel market is huge.

It is all depends on what percent is still locked up.

      Their 10Q stated around 76%.

Thanks. Is that 76% of all shares, or 76% of shares outstanding to employees? The denominator may not be the float, just the employee-owned float. It would make sense to me if 24% was founders (i.e. not subject to lockup).

I believe that's total outstanding of all shares. You can read their S1 for the breakdown. Looked at it recently, not the easiest to parse, but min. 900M preferred shares converted 1:1 to commons, then there's 50+ lines of different issuances of shares and convertible notes that's about 400M shares.

Buying puts into lockup expiration, short term dip but probably not a sell off. Enough people want out to push it down. Then buying & holding for some long term gains. Uber seems to be on track to make a lot of boring and sensible decisions aimed at profitability.

So...Lyft just lifted Uber up even though they are competitors. Thoughts? Also, how’s lyft turning profit while Uber is struggling? What makes lyft “win”?
