Walmart labs perception

What is your perception of Walmart labs? A friend got an offer to intern there as a data scientist and wants to know how people regard engineering at Walmart. And the offer is 25$/hr - is that low for a grad student at a top tier school?

Depends on where it's at. In silicon Valley mid size firm, I worked for a $42/hr internship 3 years ago.

It’s in Arkansas

If they are covering travel and accommodation, then it's fine. Otherwise I think it should be higher.

I think highly of Walmart labs. Based on the people I work with that came from there.

I think it's pretty good given that you get accommodation as an intern. Also there is lots of data sciency stuff to do

They built Hapi.js which is a damn good node server framework

They pay much more in Silicon Valley. Arkansas is very inexpensive and could be a great experience.
