After clearing phone interview for software engineer role, I'm asked to schedule a behavioral phone round. What to expect?
Doesn't matter. It's not worth your time.
Takes this persons advice with a grain of salt. Only thing I see is him/her ever do is complain on every Wayfair thread. Bitter much? It’s a big org and lots of people are pretty happy at Wayfair. You’re going to have these kinds of people at every org, even at the best rated ones.
I post on blind because people in my org get fired or "managed out" if they question how things are done in real life. Don't worry though, you'll be rid of me soon. Also: "even the best rated ones" Wayfair has a 3.3 on Glassdoor.
There's been an effort over the last year to standardize the format of this round to reduce bias in the interview process, improve consistency across interviews, etc. So if the hiring manager has been through the most recent training, you can expect the behavioral interview to follow a STAR (situation, task, action, result) format. Plenty of info online if you're not familiar with it.
Depends on the manager, sometimes just chatting sometimes a light coding exercise.
