220k base + 300k options/5yrs (no bonus) as an L5. My current TC is 185k + food, phone, commute is covered (total 22k before taxes). So basically my current TC is ~185k + 22k = 207k. I'm not sure how options will pan out in the future so not really banking on it. How I came up with 22k? $15 (food) + 40 (commute + parking) per day. I.e. $1100 I'll have pay after taxes per month. So annually it's $13200 and before taxes that'll be $22k (at 40% approx). Am I thinking rationally in terms of numbers? TBH I don't feel too comfortable with the new numbers.
Whats the location of the job? Cost of living plays a role in terms of tc
You gotta look at the company too. It is not all about the TC despite what blind will have you believe. Will you grow a lot? That’s the right question to be asking. Don’t settle obviously, but as long as the numbers are in a decent ballpark, go for it. Wework is a 🚀
I believe WeWork is in a great position right now. And I believe I'll personally grow in the role while bringing substantial things on the table. It's just future uncertainty that's making me skeptic aka things beyond my control. Another major thing is the commute. I'll be commuting to the city daily i.e. 3hrs in the train. I prefer not moving to the city. 😓

Go get it !
Congrats! What's your yoe?
No raise would be my concern.
What do you mean? In terms of refreshers or annual raise?
Negotiate for those if your TC doesn’t include them.
Take it
Are these options ISO or NSO ? And when you say 300k in units or value in USD?
Nice offer. 220k base is very high.
What do you think of the options compared to the other pre-IPO companies? Companies that give stocks instead of options? e.g. Uber, Lyft, Airbnb etc...
RSUs from non-public companies have zero cash value mostly. Don't base any financial decisions on these stock options. Anyways, what's strike price and FMV for WeWork options nowadays?
