What are some shady things recruiters do?

I've had experiences with third party recruiters who low-ball verbal offer and say they got 2 other developers from Amazon going lower than the current offer to pressurize into accepting but never roll out a formal letter. They deal in Excel sheets with no company header for sending the compensation figures. Yoe 8 160k tc

They're not bogus. Just that I wouldn't have wasted my time for the budget they had if they were clear from the beginning.

Got it! I can only suggest asking about budget upfront if you dont want to waste your time. I personally ignore DOE bullshit as well. Good luck!

They all try to ask about current comp. If not direct salary amount it's bonus or stocks. Never answer this.

Not sure if sarcasm or genuine. I didn't say they were you just were clear what you thought was shady. Sounds like they are just doing their job so far.
