What are the good things about Wayfair EU?

I have an offer from Wayfair and I am seriously considering it. It's a supply chain optimization opportunity where I will be driving change and creating strategies (based on facts and data driven), taking a look at business and tech dimensions. I have gone through a lot of posts here (most of them negative) and I was wondering if there are any good things (or alarming facts). Also, I would love to know if the company is trying to bring a new generation of great people to improve their atmosphere/skills. My interview experience was really good. Everyone treated me respectfully and we had very engaging conversations. TC €75,000 + Stock

Do it - supply chain is needed for EU and EU seems to be more readily adopting new tech. Be the positive force that the rest of Wayfair on Blind isn't.

Great! I think I will be a little bit isolated from the traditional tech problems. From my understanding, if I need to analyze something it will be with Python/R/SQL + Tableau. How does the company see/treat their supply chain experts?

Howz is the Ad tech division in boston for Software eng.

Lots of grumblings recently. Seems like the team is in flux with many entry level engineers waiting for their H1b transfer to go through to leave Wayfair.

hmm. So not recommended?

A lot of ex-McK people joined recently. Head of EU supply chain is also ex-McK and I had a chance to work with him before. Good guy. Do you have consulting background or experience working with consultants? Expect very analytical environment with direct communication. Very impact focused. Definitely a place you can learn a lot.

Thank you for your reply. Indeed, I interviewed with 3 ex-Mck and they all were very nice. I have been surrounded by consultants and combine business + tech/analytical backgrounds. Definitely I see this as an opportunity to stand out and deliver results.

They really need to hire Amazon folks to build first. AFAIK my interview was so so. They can't answer their next steps. It sounded like the founders are all in for quick cash and buyout from someone. They don't have any USP from customer perspective. They deal about Boston hiring is that the City of Boston offered them tax breaks in exchange of influx of new hires over the next three quarters.

Plus, this is your first real job after degree. Don't do it! Learn first before you can binge in.

Bear in mind that the offer is for Europe. It's actually much harder to find good high growth company in Europe to join then in US. Wayfair is actually one of the more interesting companies to join in Germany.

Just an update: EU = Berlin office

That's additional plus in my view as you will be working directly with Sascha and his team.

Great! Would you say that this is a wise move into the supply chain world? I come from a different industry with transferable skills + a huge investment on SCM professional development. My goal is to become a subject matter expert and for that I see a few interesting paths: Wayfair (more exposure), Amazon (narrower scope), Fast Fashion, MBB...

Yeah... Not a managerial position, just the guy with background knowledge

I'm not in engineering so I'm always shocked by all the negativity here - in my own role I think the company is fantastic. Compared to other jobs I've had this place has it all. My pay is decent, the atmosphere at work is great, in empowered to make my own decisions and really free to make improvements as I see fit to my workflow and processes. I'm not doubting that our plucky startup is hitting or will hit roadblocks soon because of a poor base of code that limits scalability, but in my experience the jobs in general are pretty good relative to what else is out there. Admittedly, general retail work relative to Wayfair is probably a lot different than other engineering jobs relative to those at Wayfair.
