So we all know about FAANG. What is the tiers for finance companies? If you are in the know and want to participate please rank: 1. General finance company tiers (prestige) 2. Best finance companies to work for as a techie.
💩 tier: Bloomberg
newsflash: there are no prestigious tech or finance companies. What we do us not prestigious in general. Get over it and go to med school if you crave prestige.
FAANG is about the performance of those companies' stocks. It has nothing to do with prestige. I know lots of people who don't know Netflix but know Microsoft and have lots of admiration for the brand. Also many non-tech people I know think of working at Amazon as handling packets in the warehouse. Not much prestige to be doing that job I guess?
Honestly, I have way more respect for Microsoft than Netflix. The engineering quality is crap at Netflix. That’s what happens when the interview process filters by culture fit rather than by technical talent. I love their TC though.
Look at wallstreet Oasis, check the different between prop shops, bb, and hedge funds.
Biased but imo if you wanna work do tech in finance it doesnt get better than two sigma or jane street from what ive heard.
👎
Capital One?!
Doesn’t matter. You won’t get respect working as a techie at a finance company no matter how “prestigious” it is. Blind is not the forum to judge finance companies anyway. Try posting on wall street oasis.
RenTech, Two Sigma, Point 72.
A/B test it. Go go clubs. Change the company you 'work' for every month. See which ones get you laid the most.
Ehh, I've heard worse ideas. Funny thing about nightclubs, is that people's interest in you rises the more you spend. E.g. if you buy bottle service and worry about the price, then you should not be buying it
Here we go again! Another “prestige” hunt. ‘‘Tis the season.
