Let's consider the following set: * Amazon * Google * Facebook * Apple * Microsoft * Netflix * Airbnb What are the companies not listed above that are better than the worst company listed above? Criteria for determining better/worse: * Opportunity for growth - 70% * Salary and perks - 30% I know, it's subjective. It's intended to be so.
You missed the most important thing: culture
Lyft > MS
For non-tech roles (finance, corp dev, strategy, marketing) I would rank them as follows. Facebook Google Netflix AirBnB Apple Amazon Microsoft
Microsoft marketing/corp dev pays pretty well (bonus if you are a 65+), no? Also better exposure to enterprise scenarios at MS
I thought about placing Microsoft ahead of Amazon, mainly due to Nadella's leadership and serious push towards the cloud. But I think Amazon as of now is more prestigious and offers slightly higher comp.
Snap is better (pays more) than Apple, Microsoft, and amazon.
Snap's comp is amazing. If you're a single guy working there in LA, you're at the top of the hierarchy.
Well Netflix is also in LA and pays more π but ya
Corporate v field vastly differs for all of these.
?
Databricks, Dropbox, Grab, Jane St, LinkedIn, Lyft, MemSQL, OCI, Palantir, Pinterest, Quora, Salesforce, Square, Stripe, Twitter, Uber >> Amazon
Maybe retail, but I consider AWS > than most of those companies.
Good point, I think the only companies I'd consider over AWS in that list are Dropbox and Uber.
