What do US citizens think of Visa workers?

What do you citizens think of your visa colleagues? Does it seem strange how people are chasing visa and fighting to stay in the US? Do you feel they replace local talent? Should they go back? I am just curious. I am on visa myself.

I have no idea which of my coworkers is on visa or has a green card. It does not matter to me.

We usually don't know your work status, wouldn't care if we did, and are glad you are here!

Good response.

I guess the local universities don't generate enough qualified people for the market

Surprised why you guys are willing to stay in US for 10+ years without certainty. I moved to UK and came back as they required you to work for 5 years to get PR.

Many US citizens were visa workers in their past or their parents were.

Good for economy. The more competitive, the stronger workforce. Adapt or unemployed. It’s a net positive for this country. P/s: naturalized USC.

In high tech, we’re lucky to get intelligent workers from other countries. There simply aren’t enough qualified and highly educated US workers, so anyone who can do the job is very much appreciated, regardless of where you’re from. It’s being able to recruit the world’s best and brightest that has made the US the high-tech leader that it is
