I've always had a body that loses weight. At 28, I'm starting to feel my unhealthy habits catch up to me. Apart from my full time job I advice early stage startups across the globe. Which means I am sitting in front of my laptop for work or Netflix pretty much 24*6. I know I can start gyiming and eating healthy (on it). I'm looking for other neat pro tips from other fellow technologists who look out for their health.
No need for the gym. Just do push ups, squats, and pull ups on one of those bars you hang on the door. At work, every hour at the top of the hour, bang out ten push ups and ten squats. This will easily take you over 100 accumulated for the day. For the pull up bar at your house, leave it on at all times, and every time you walk under it, do two to three reps. You’ll be in great shape in no time. Once these become easy and/or boring, you can level up to more advanced exercises.
This certainly helps but there is no substitute for cardio and proper diet. Mostly looking for heart health and keeping your cardiovascular system clear of buildup. Plenty of thin people still have high cholesterol.
Sex for cardio and leetcode to keep the brain working
And cocaine for the extra benefits
And level out with 2 hits of weed just to avoid any unforeseen turbulence.
Pushups, PullUps, squats , morning time walk, enough hydration, healthy food mixed with variety of foods and good time with family n sleep
Walks are quite inefficient. If you’re gonna do cardio, might as well go on a short run than a long walk.
Agree. Walking is a waste of time.
Vegetarian food, 35 miles/week on a bike (heavy hills), weight lifting every other day, 7 hours of sleep/night.
Vegetarian food isn’t necessarily healthy
Very true. A “junk food vegetarian” diet is not healthy, but a healthy vegetarian diet is obviously superior to a non-vegetarian diet.
Start with focusing on fixing your sleep schedule. Getting regular amount of sleep and having a proper sleep routine is way more important.
I don't eat 3 meals a day and control my portion sizes. It's a myth that you can just workout all the time and eat whatever you want especially as you get older
This. Exercise is burning calories. The other aspect is reducing calories that you have to burn in the first place. Reduce eating outside where you don't know what went into the food ( for instance: butter, cream added for flavor). Reduce sugar...this should improve your health in addition to doing the push-ups and pull-ups.
OP states he has the problem of losing weight. This advice is for the opposite problem.
Reduce calorie intake... Avoid dense foods especially cookies, cakes, candy. Just moderate exercise with muscle stretching daily and lots of sleep. Avoid heavy exercise since it is unsustainable
Look up Dr. Berg, Thomas Delaur, keto and intermittent fasting on YouTube, and switch out for your Netflix for the time being. You should reverse the inflammation and insulin resistance now! Before long Doc's gonna wanna put you on potent/expensive synthetic drugs that alter your body chemistry and only make things worse. Health is 85% diet. Good luck.
Yay health advice on Blind! It’s all great! Follow everyone’s suggestions! What could go wrong?
Eat healthy, get enough sleep and exercise. Stress kills.
+drink plenty of water
