    I’m a female of mixed ethnicity. I can’t stand all the diversity nonsense. I feel like it lessens my accomplishments. I don’t need d&i nonsense as a crutch. When my accomplishments are recognized or I get promoted, I have to worry that my colleagues think it’s because of my sex/skin color. It’s bad enough you have to worry about people thinking you are a diversity hire. In my opinion, the d&i stuff is a just another form of soft bigotry via lowered expectations.

      Nothing gets white people more excited than a minority or woman denouncing diversity efforts. Not going to lie, I’m a minority and in every single interview I play that whole “pull myself up by my bootstrap story” and it works every time. I play them like a fiddle. I don’t believe it bu my whatever works. I get the job.

      Lol. "White people suck so much that I can easily manipulate them in interviews in order to get jobs to be around them constantly. They love to hear about people living by abstract principles of self determination and other nonsense whereas I know that leveraging social structures and exploiting weaknesses is what gets people ahead. Somehow they have institutions that I find appealing so I apply for jobs around them but basically they really do suck."

    Group which has faced discrimination in history need help in order to assimilate with the society. D&i is one such effort. Is it the best way? Well that's subjective. If US government really wanted to help black community they can fund their education, try to reduce crime rates etc and work at grassroot level.

As Candace Owens says, don’t be a victim, be a victor. Weak and ineffective individuals need a crutch... strong, intelligent people do not.

      No this is flawed thinking. There doesn’t need to be equal numbers of women or certain ethnicities in tech because unequal numbers choose that path. White liberals need to STOP.     I do think that there may be some truth to black and hispanic populations not feeling totally welcome. and negative bias against these groups.

    I support any efforts to try to create a welcoming space no matter the background. I’m so sick of racism and stereotypes.

    I didn’t realize that the US had a huge race issue until I went to the UK and I saw more of an absence of it. I’m telling you, the rest of the white Americans like me- we do have a race issue and it shows up in such subtle ways even at work.

    This makes me really sad and I feel powerless, I’m not sure how to meaningfully help the issue. I do appreciate that we are trying with the D&I efforts.

    It's not only in tech, it's a systemic social problem. Firstly, one has to understand that slavery existed and ppl are still facing its consequences. We cannot hide it under carpet, we need to collectively solve it. Affirmative action might not be best way. Anyways l will leave it at that.

    I work for oracle.There are 14 people on my team. 3 are white guys. One is an immigrant. My manager is Chinese. His manager is indian. His manager is indian.

    Now there are only 3 women on the team. Its almost all guys. We have indian,pakistani,africans (dont know the countries),chinese, mexican
