I understand that top scores are meeded ro Wharton. However, flipping through recent graduates, everyone's path seems to be 1. Ivy (Or Stanford Or MIT) undergraduate 2. Investment Banking analyst/associate, MBB junior consultant and the occasional manager from some well-known non-profit (e.. ChanZuckerberg, Bill and Melinda Gates). Should I just admit that it's not for me at this point since I have precisely 0/2 of those? 😅 Let's conceive the ideal candidate
Insanely high GMAT (750+), stellar recommendations plus work ex with growth, plus being a minority helps too (not Indian).
doesn’t it usually depend on the dick in question?
Wow Blind has such a toxic culture sometimes.
welcome to the internet..
It’s anonymous. Are you surprised?
You don't need an ivy league undergrad, but you do need a gmat of >720. You don't have to come from IB/consulting, but those are good feeders because 40% the class enters those fields after graduation. If you come from another industry, you need to be from a top 1-2 company in that field. Lastly, if you are more than 5 years out of school, you are already too old.
You can consider the Executive MBA programs at the top schools. They don't require GMAT scores or even going to a top undergrad. They place more emphasis on work experience.
Executive MBA need GMAT
It's not that hard to verify if u go directly to their website. The U Penn exec mba website says u can take the executive assessment instead. No GMAT required. I got into Univ. of Chicago Exec program and I didn't take the GMATs or goto a top undergrad.
I hope these MBA programs burn down, so people can do more meaningful stuff.
I heard the IVYs are itching for cash since the international students (the real money makers) barely apply with the tightening of immigration...many would prefer to work here. Also, overall admission rate is down as more and more folks realize how much of a scam a lot of higher education is (outside of STEM) and select fields...and they can achieve the same if not better results by gaining work experience. It’s super dependent on one’s goals. A decade or two from now, I expect the views on these tier 1 schools to be even less favorable as less and less employers care about MBAs...
You heard wrong. International students still apply in hordes to The Ivy League.
U need to be a stable genius with a very large brain
Bigly if true
