I’m reading some MSFT posts on this forum and some are mentioning L60 as an entry level engineer. Are there really 60 levels for SWE to client at MSFT? How does the leveling work at Microsoft?
Msft level numbers used to be sensible, but they rebased them years ago onto a new scale that starts pretty high. In the US, L59 is entry-level engineering. There are more junior levels for roles outside engineering. For example, aministrative assistants can be levels 55-58. Levels.fyi will give you the mapping of levels within engineering
Sometimes rebasing requires manual merging https://www.git-scm.com/docs/git-rebase
^uh wut
59-60 is entry level, 61-62 is sde2, 63-64 is senior
Levels.fyi is a reasonable starting place
