For metrics sake... What is it worth at Google? (There's no data on levels.fyi)
Fwiw, consulting firms are all about selling strategy and vision but rarely focus on execution. If you don’t have any prior corporate exp, expect 1-2 levels downgrade. Maybe a manager or sr manager at best — maybe T5/6.
Word. They don't do execution? I thought that's all they do - just really fast and not thought out ...user research, design studies, and all that.
Speaking from an actual design director at mck.. we try our best to be comprehensive (full ecosystem design and execution, product full vision and strategy, MVP launch etc) but definitely never have enough time to dig too deep. Typical launch time from research to go live mvp is 12-13 weeks which is super tight
McKinsey after several acquisitions and organic growth is currently one of the largest design companies in the world. Take a look at this one: www.wired.com/2015/05/consulting-giant-mckinsey-bought-top-design-firm/amp Going back to original question, for EM equivalent would be Google L5/6 unless you have stellar pre-mckinsey background then MAYBE considered for 7
McKinsey ... as in the consulting firm? That McKinsey and UX? What kind of role does this entail? 🤨
creating polls?
They have an agency where they go and do work for their clients. So lots of ux projects. So one client could be like Geico or Citi or something
