What is happening in Uber ATG
I know couple of people were interviewing there, and I heard Uber ATG and AI labs are going through makor re-orgs and are things are fuzzy and not good. Con anyone provide any info, and if it makes sense to join them now. Thanks. TC 265, 2 yoe
For ATG I would avoid with the latest exodus. All the good people left and I heard Leadership is a complete shit show there. AI Labs is a bit more mature but still trying to find footing. Similar to Facebook AI org

Bunch of Start ups like Ike, Kodiak, Argo, and Aurora. Also bunch went to Uber HQ.
Are you applying as an SDE or RS? what is your current role
RS, current role between RS and SDE, closer to RS, with phd.
ATG has lost the truck unit but the rest of the organization is much better than before. The people who went to HQ are mostly casual damaged cause by leadership movement.
How is Uber ATG's progress and tech relative to Waymo? Is it the second best after them?
It’s good progress overall. It needs more time and engineering work to catch up with Waymo as it’s a system engineering work overall. In terms of scalability ATG is definitely on the leader side along with a few others.
Still tons of motivated people working on challenging projects. Larger pool of Blind whiners per capita tho.
Can Uber keep the current valuation or get a higher valuation without ATG?
The value of ATG alone is at most 4 billion.
But I thought the whole point of Uber being so highly valued is because some day they will us autonomous fleets and keep most of the profits to themselves
