How many years? Do you get bored? Did you experience any organizational change? Did you get any promotion, demotion, or has your position been pretty much the same since you started? Any changes in roles and responsibilities? Any regrets? What are your reasons for staying that long?
I regret staying too long in this thread. FPBP
Three things happen. Your coworkers kids grow up. Yours do too. But it's surreal noticing that with your coworkers' kids. Second, people tend to come reappear in different contexts. Third, you realize folks look familiar and you with them long time ago, but their name escapes you. Longest tenure 9 years.
My tenure 14 yrs
I work with people whose tenure is 20+ some were promoted to director role but reverted back to swe because less stress. They own the code base and know every little spot in the database. But they have difficulties with new technologies and poor eye sight 👀
Worked for 8-9 years but in 4 different projects
What is it like to be married to the same man/woman for decades?
Asking if someone has worked at the same company for"decades" and then asking if they experienced organizational change or promotions.... Really? Nobody works 20 years at a company and doesn't experience org changes or promotions or changes in responsibilities...
You clearly haven't met Boeing employees.
You clearly haven’t met intel employees either
