What is the most value for money used car under 7k ? I want to buy a used car for my wife , since she recently learned driving . I want her to perfect her driving before we both decide to get a brand new car . I want to have least insurance liability at the same time she should not feel that the car is shit . What would you suggest ? And since this is only temporary , let’s say 1-2 years . It should have good resale value too
Honda Civic, will hold value very well.
Do not try to save money on your wife. Buy the safest car money can buy.
+1 Even with good driving you can't always avoid accidents from other people.
What is the safest car $7K can buy?
Accord, corolla. Just buy from another tech guy and maintenance will probably be ok
Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla.
Your best value is to buy a $2500 japanese car or perhaps a crown vic, and drive it for 10 years with minimal maintenance, doing easy things yourself and a little luck. $200/yr in depreciation and probably $500/yr avg on maintenance. Not being a cheap bastard with your wife is a different story.
Crown vic
Civic or Corolla
I bought a Hyundai Elantra in 2005 for $5000 It looks like shit but it has cost me maybe $3000 in repairs in the past 13 years including oil changes.
Pm me. I want to sell my car.
Why not lease something? Or if you don't think her driving is good enough how about you do us all a favor and get her some driving lessons?
No one's a pro when they just get their license. Takes a while to get comfortable.
High school permit drivers had to drive ## hours before taking the test. Spouses should invest the same - for everyone’s safety. No class, but put in hours together
