Thinking of going back to school and taking classes partime for a bachelor's in CS then doing masters in machine learning.

Is there any particular major that's good for machine learning as masters or is CS the main one? (Based In the bay area )

My old undergrad was unrelated totally from CS or engineering.

If you meet their admission criteria and lack programming experience they make you take a Python for Data Science course your first term. It is enough to do the work, but you'd struggle to leetcode without self study. Not that leetcode is always required for Data Science it does kind of come up for some Machine Learning Engineer type roles.

Is the DePaul program a credible university? When companies look at the resume and see it?

#125 overall. #147 in CS (US News & World Reports rankings). I'd say reputable enough, but that's certainly subjective. I do strongly believe their DS program is better than most I've seen or have interviewed graduates from. I think where your degree is from usually only matters in your first role, outside of academic roles. The rest should be on the track record you developed professionally and can speak to when asked questions around it.

Check out Georgia Tech’s MS in CS. It has a track in ML.

So that's a while different major than CS? Do they overlap at all or no? Interms of courses

Most will be like a specialized subset of CS. Some show up in math/stats departments depending on the school.
