Not trying to sound stupid, entitled, or naive here... And I know the question itself might not make all that much sense... but was wondering what other companies out there have a fun and low stress vibe to be part of. The early days of twitch was honestly really fun, and fairly low stress. But nowadays, as it feels like we are on the downturn of the funding cycle and corporate parents are cracking the whip to cut costs and force unnatural inorganic growth, I just don't feel like it's a fun place to be anymore. And was hoping to find something similar to join... I recognize that early twitch maybe was an anomoloy, as people were passionate and friendly and tended to mostly get along. And I recognize that most companies have pressure and hard work and corporate politics and all. But just wondering if there are other companies or teams out there that have the more playful fun culture where people are really passionate about something but you're not expected to work bad hours to survive and have to worry about your job all the time. I just feel concerned as some of the companies I thought were fun, like riot or blizzard or even discord, are apparently going through similar processes and I'm not sure if that's just a macroeconomic thing pertaining to lack of growth in the economy... Or if it's just me :/

Is it even possible to get an interview at Spotify? They’re hiring efforts don’t seem to be too solid and largely based on referrals. I always loved the app and I remember trying to reach out to a recruiter several times to no avail, even when my resume was fairly solid. It was so bad I walked to their NY office and tried to hand over my paper resume lol
guess this depends on what you work on. the project i work on is very stressful and in the critical revenue path. it could be less so, but it suffers from horrible leadership and endless tech debt thanks to lots of rookie tech decisions. have heard similar stories company-wide, but usually easier going when not on a revenue product.
I've heard brown paper tickets is great to work for as well
What's a <insert positive company characteristic here> company to work for? Google
Except exciting. Do your code and don't complain
Not google cloud
Isn’t Twitch fun enough to work at?
It was the dream job when I joined. A pretty flat hierarchy, everyone was passionate and stayed late to play games hang out and work on side projects, had unlimited autonomy to try new projects. It was honestly really fun and it felt proud to represent a community that everyone at the office cared about. But don't think that's the case today. Reorgs and layoffs followed by more Reorgs and new execs means twitch culture is mostly dead. More of a political house with different execs vying for power. Company also lost vision and strategy and unsure where its going
That’s sad, OP
I heard Oracle and Cisco has incredibly amazing WLB
SAP. Solve problems that matter.
eBay. Great WLB
Baskin Robbins
Serious with recent changes? It’s more of a micro managing machine now.
+1 what were the changes?
