I want to express more gratitude than just a simple thank you but feel like $1 could be seen as disrespectful. Examples I’m thinking about are like a bathroom attendant that hands out towels or a retail worker that goes above and beyond their job requirement to help me
Tipping is for the birds.
Blinders: highest TC earners, and lowest tippers!
You don't get rich by throwing away your hard earned code monkey salary
Do you give a tip to the doctor who saves your life? Do you tip your teacher who gives you the skills to make something out of life? The US has a fucked up system where tips are a large portion of the compensation. So the most I will do is do the minimum so that I am not stiffing the little guy by denying him minimum wage. So I tip 15% of the pretax bill for wait staff - I do that each and every time even though I hate the fucking practice. And that’s the most I’m willing to do. You can call me low tipper or high tipper. It doesn’t matter and it means jack shit.
I find bathroom attendants annoying and almost seem like begging to get tipped. I can get my own tissue thank you.
^ came here to say this
$1
Tipping expectations have gone overboard these days. Its a nuisance
Tipping 20% and a dollar when asked is fine you cheap fucks with high TC should spread some wealth at least in such a trivial way for service workers - sometimes I hate people
I don’t get it either...people making large 6 figure salaries but heaven forbid they have to hand out a $1.
You can go fuck your self. Dumb bastards like you have made service industries toxic. In the US it is quite common for wait staff to discriminate their customers and treat some customers better than others whereas in Europe, Asia and South America, the service staff doesn’t give a shit about who you are and serve everyone equally. And earning a tip in those places actually means they did a fabulous job over and beyond. And they get paid living wages and comparable to someone with equal skills. Tell me how the fuck a guy waiting tables in SF deserves a 50$ tip while someone waiting a table in Fremont at Denny’s deserves a 4$ tip for the same fucking time and service? The 46$ extra is for the location you dumb idiot.
Go to your bank and request a ton of $2 bills to tip with. Even if it's not alot of money, people are generally impressed to receive $2 bills.
The bathroom attendant thing is just weird. I don't want the service, no tips
I don't want someone there observing me while I use the restroom.
Lol a bathroom attendant is not getting more than $1
Lol that’s what I think too but sometimes I just feel like it’s disrespectful to give only $1 but don’t ever ask how much other people give
I don't even understand why a whole person is needed there just to stand and hand out paper napkins !
