I usually arrive at the office 8:10 am-ish. Wanted to start exercising in the morning instead of afternoons. Figured, could spend 30-40 mins in the office gym before 9. Do you feel tired after working out in the mornings or do you find it to be energizing? Any PWO recommendations? Thanks.
Usually you feel energized and accomplished by 9am.
Morning workouts make me more focused at work.
A very personal / YMMV topic, but I only lift weights (meaning I dont go to gym to do treadmill etc.), and I cannot lift heavy well in the morning. I sometimes try to lift right before lunch so I can eat immediately after to get max benefits of protein and carbs. But typically I try to lift around 3-4p or 5-6p. My body is awake and active from the day and easier to lift hard. Early morning I am just too cold and stiff. All my supps are Poliquin ... pwo is a beta-alanine/creatine blend in pill form. Also take a lot of bcaa's
I run 5 miles at 5am every morning during the week. Mentally it helps with the feeling of having something already accomplished going into the start of the day
I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I’ll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

What worked for me was only doing cardio in the mornings (running, biking, and always, always outside), and doing gym sessions / weight lifting weekend afternoons or weekday evenings. When i workout on a weekday morning, i feel tired, but after a run, i feel more energized and efficient during the day.
Tired, workout makes me want to nap so I do it at night instead
30-40 isn’t a lot of time, so HIIT might work best for you. For me, 5x5 (aka heavy lifts) with a good PWO (Mr. Hyde or ON Pre) has worked well for me. Usually in and out in <45 minutes. Working out in the mornings ensures I don’t miss a day due to work or family events.
Doing cardio in the morning is fine, but I don’t dare lift heavy weights because the risk for injury is greater due to lower energy level.
Plan to shower afterwords...don’t be that guy.
And yes, hot shower adds to that energized feeling.
