It pays money by keeping all messaging users out of hands of other companies so that FB stocks gain in value. If they dint do this, whatsapp would have gotten purchased or IPO'ed and FB would have to deal with the competition.
Ya this is pretty much it. If whatsapp didnโt get acquired it would try to make its own money, which ultimately would come out of the same bucket. Regardless of success or failure, it is a risk. Just look at fbโs reaction to snap.
Thereโs no work there. App is done and there are no improvements for the next 14 years. Scammers, thatโs how they make money.

They don't. I think fb just supports it
