Their TC should put the low tech TC to shame. Most hedge fund folks with 2-3 yoe end up making $500k-1M easy which Tech folks can only dream of

From wall street Oasis [0]: "At a large technology company like Facebook or Uber, software engineers start around $75,000 but are capped at $271,000 as directors".

1m+ is pretty much reserved for portfolio managers, which takes a looooong time to get to.

300k-500k is a more reasonable number for analysts. To get there though, you need to pretty much graduate from a top school, 2 years of top banking experience, and then if you're good enough, you'll have to pass HF interviews. Maybe throw an MBA in there at some point.

Developers’ TC in HFs max out at 300K, and that’s the more senior ones. If you become a Director you can beat that. An SDE at Amazon, for example, wouldn’t do much better at an HF. Trust me, I know, I have been in both worlds. One thing to note is that HFs will frequently pay you as a contractor, and right now the most you’d ever get is 1200/day, maybe 1300 if you get lucky. 1000-1100/day is more likely, though I worked with some who were below that because they’re less experienced in finance.

You pulled those numbers out of your ass. The number of people making that much (new grad or otherwise) is minimal. There are shit ton of analysts in Wall Street. Don't delude yourself into thinking those numbers are normal. Most Wall Street folks aren't making even remotely close to that.
