It’d be fun to see Islam win the poll. Cannot get a better example of how shitty/irrelevant Blind polls are.

Aaa333 - is that a real question? Or are you going to apply “No True Scotsman” to anything I provide? Not interested in a fake debate full of shifting goalposts and whataboutisms, so move on if that’s your thing.

If not, what counts as “knowledge of Islam” then? Do I have to be a mullah at Saudi for 10 years before I will have true knowledge of Islam? Do you consider all media reports to be blasphemy by infidels?

@sirens over half of Muslim women in the states do not cover their hair. It’s a personal choice about how open you want to be about your spirituality and family/community doesn’t really care one way or the other. If you’re in the bay you probably know many white passing or Asian passing Muslim women

So, what's being said here is that women covering up (and it's not just scarves) is something that helps equality, because men aren't expected to be able to treat them equally until they're covered.

Having different expectations of men and women like that is already a point against equality.

There is so much wrong with the scarves == equality argument, and then there all the forms of inequality between men and women in Islam that are left out.

Note that I'm not defending other religions.

^ totally and even within the religion people have a spectrum of opinions on it, i.e many find the premise that women need to do something to make up for the shortcoming of men not feminist enough, others find it to be a weapon of empowerment in a system that’s rigged against them. I’m just explaining that for the women who do chose to wear hijab what their belief actually is (versus common misconceptions)

Folks forget the headscarf, Sharia law dictates that the word of a woman is worth HALF that of a man. In court, two women's testimony is worth one man's. It is a joke to say that Islam is the most liberating for women.

People don't seem to understand this poll is relative. No religion treats women and men the same. Not even atheism!

Atheism isn't a religion and has no dogma. Atheism is the most equalizing of all the options because there are no "rules"

Either atheism is not a religion, and has no dogma, or its the most equalizing. Pick one.

The philosophy that often goes along with atheism is humanism, and that is very much about equality at its foundation.

Plus how the eff is Hindu religion the same??? Umm, what if Sita wanted to get some side piece? Rather why was it focused on Sitas faithfulness and not Rams?

The top answers (Islam and Hindu) are pretty dumb.

Well, show me another religion where polyamory is in a religious epic 😀

Jokes aside, there have been strong, independent women in Vedic manuscripts - just not so much in reality.

A simple Google search for crimes committed by the church against women and humanity in general is enough to portray Christianity in a negative light. If Jesus gets to know what his followers have done in his name he will be a pretty sad man. So I can also call Christianity to be "pretty dumb" but I won't since I believe every religion has good things to offer as well. For example: my parents gave me a small glow in the dark Jesus Christ statue (which I have till this date) and told me about how he forgave the people who crucified him to teach me the power of forgiveness. And I come from a HINDU family. So, we can take the good from every religion like my parents did and better ourselves as human beings or we can continue to throw mud at each other which people like you prefer to do and go nowhere. The choice is yours. Peace.

The distribution here seems to reflect distribution of blind folks based on religious beliefs rather than anything to do with women, looks like approximately 35% of blind folks are atheists and so on...

There have been 14 female Muslim heads of state. How do you explain that? It’s complicated.

Check the top comment - I called it when the poll was posted. This is a perfect example of why you cannot crowdsource objective truths
