Why are all salaries reported on blind seem to be much higher than average found online publicly, like Glassdoor, indeed, paysa?
Only high earners post their wages here
Selection bias?
All those sites average data over multiple years. Salary in tech changes a lot in recent years
Bingo. Tech salaries are growing so fast that Glassdoor’s algorithms are having a hard time keeping up. I think this is more pronounced at the smaller companies with very few Glassdoor posts.
1% rule applies on Blind. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1%25_rule_(Internet_culture)
+1 for 1% time
I find blind to be more accurate than paysa and glassdoor. paysa seems to be on the higher side and Glassdoor too outdated and on lower end
At least when I looked at glasssdoor, it didn’t ask about total comp, only salary. My salary is only about 20% of my TC.
Glassdoor insists you put up a salary and if you haven’t moved jobs in a while it’s really obvious who you are
