They only travel to Richmond or Antioch area I think. There are way more people who commute to and from San Francisco, and the current trains are disgusting. Why is it so difficult to implement all the new trains in the entire Bay Area? They srsly need to make better use of our taxes.
I've gone from Glen Park to Powell in the new trains.
Because we don’t have all of them yet. They’re literally being shipped from the east coast by truck, because they run on India gauge track instead of standard gauge track that is everywhere else in the country. BART in the 70s installed a special size track that isn’t used anywhere else in the country. Also, testing. They have to test the cars and get a lot of mileage with the tests before they put them into service.
Don't like the new barts. There are less seats and existing seats are hard as rock
BART hasn’t qualified them through the tunnel yet, so only one side or the other
Because then it would have been called SFART.
Because if they go to SF they won't be new and nice anymore
