Why all these priveleged top school kids feel the need to post on LinkedIn everytime they get an offer ? Is Microsoft making them do this ? They are hella thankful and then thanking their recruiters and then they share a challenge like "I was so nervous applying as I never worked in the industry before". Is that really a challenge ? Wtf. Be thankful that you're in a state to be offered these challenges. But don't behave like you've accomplished the impossible P.S. I went to CSU East Bay, an international student, undergraduate degree holder, won the h1b lottery first try given my undergrad status, I made it to Salesforce today. But you don't see me posting on LinkedIn bragging about my steps in life. I know how challenging it is making it here in the first place. I know how much people are waiting for their chance, I am Indian born in Qatar, I am very lucky in terms of green card processing as well. But I don't share this news publicly as I am mindful of my fellow peers who are not as fortunate as me. This is just plain bragging !! Y'all priveleged kids born here have no idea what it takes to make it here. And u act very disadvantaged identifying yourself "as someone with no CS background". Stanford, Berkeley, Ivy league kids saying they have no CS background is laughable, y'all know there is light at the end of the tunnel. Be thankful to everyone around u, but are you thanking god ?
LinkedIn young Influencers. I'm sure they have a YouTube, Instagram and patreon page with supporters. I feel like a Timex watch in a digital age
Why being sad at somebody's happiness? Somebody else needs to grow up here
Ironic reply.

Branding. Suppose you get a paper accepted at a conference. Go to LinkedIn and thank the organizers. Blast the post to a bunch of target channels so that people see that you got selected as a speaker. Same thing with awards and recognitions
Microsoft owns LinkedIn btw, so might be Microsoft asking them to promote LinkedIn?
They want you to know how awesome they are to get an offer and others just want to make the employer like them more. A less cynical view is that some are genuinely happy that things worked out successfully and they are excited about the new job. Admittedly it is a fine catch to snag Microsoft straight out of college. It will open lots of doors.
It’s tacky, but if my offspring did it I wouldn’t mind, I’m fucking old
Some of them are dumb but then some of them are genuinely happy
I started seeing that BS and was going to say something that literally no one gives a shit
Lol so im not the only one seeing those? My guess is they’re being “encouraged” by the recruiters. If not then maybe they just want to brag that they got an internship at Microsoft. Getting an internship is difficult. Do people not do it for internships at other big tech companies?
It’s a new thing. People are branding themselves.
