With the incompatible software, proprietary licensing, and awful keyboards, not touchscreen, can't bend backwards. It only has 1 thing going for it: great internal hardware. But even that's rivaled by many others at lower prices.
User experience. I hate that my company doesn’t let me use Mac at work...
I'd be the happiest person on Earth once you guys start using Linux and then ship a friggin driver for Linux. The current ones are just piece of junk
They look nice. Others lack a personality
Look Nice, reliable and great quality HW, better user experience, longevity, my 5ys old runs good as new
Keep in good shape for way longer. I see people still rocking original MacBook airs. If feels vintage, but they run like charm.
Touchpad is too good, but the new keyboard + touchbar are awful. I wish they would just take the 2012 MBP and beef the specs...
Interesting. What about touchpad did you like?
Don't know why some people hate touchbar. I actually like it very much
I use it because the track pad, mine have always lasted many years, sexy design, OS X gives me almost full Linux dev tools without the hassle of oem supported Linux
Battery life and startup time are awesome. Unix based. Usually thin and light form factor
People have the wrong understanding of Apple’s business. Apple is a software company with its software comes free from the hardware it sells. In other words, the “reason” that people uses Mac is to use the operating system. But the only way to use the OS is by buying the hardware. It’s a pretty unique model.
You got it completely backward. Apple is a hardware company that makes software to seek its hardware, not the other way around... Apple is best at hardware, and it’s software often holds it back. Think HomePod, etc
Coming from Google, Apple software practices are 🤦♀️
What is a better alternative?
Its a better user experience, windows 10 is so fucking garbage with its mobile/desktop hybrid abomination
Also the Eco system. If you have a iPhone then Mac makes life much easier. But I totally agree with you with better user experience!
Mobile/desktop hybrid has been terrible
