Will Google consider other roles if I don’t get what I apply for?
I have an extensive background in software (8 years, early software lead at big name startups) and have previously declined solicited Google offers for SWE roles, but I have recent (3 years) experience as a director of product and think I actually have more to offer there. If I apply for the product director role at YouTube or similar and don’t qualify, would I be referred to roles where I’d likely qualify like SDM? (also would appreciate commentary on other FAANGMs too)

I failed to make it to on-site for the first role I applied to at Google (they told me it was a headcount thing). Reached back out to a different recruiter and got an SWE role.
How many YOE? All together? (I’m guessing the 8 years was just in leadership positions at big name startups)
The 8 years is total, I’m 27. I had a lucky meteoric rise very early so I got to start fairly high in the totem pole.
What would the answer be for Amazon?
