Will Google kill Inbox?

Google launched Inbox and it got some hype, but it seems like it’s been stagnant as of late (for instance not even updated to support iPhone X). Will it eventually be killed by Google or does it have a future? Maybe some features will get merged into the main gmail codebase?

I love inbox. Would prob stop using Google for emails if they abandoned it

What special support does iPhone x need?

Apple Apl2Ggl Dec 7, 2017

The app isn’t full screen

I don't know what value inbox adds on top of Gmail, i found it useless

Microsoft sfBb37 Dec 7, 2017

I find it's much easier to automatically group things and the way it extracts trip itinerary from emails is really useful to me

And I forgot reminders, the single most useful Google feature I've ever used

Who cares about Google

I know you’re shitposting but the Outlook mobile app is legit and makes Inbox, Mail, Gmail, and even Touchdown look like trash.

Outlook mobile is my goto. Amazing mail app.

It's actually a step back in some ways, have to switch back to gmail to use certain search features.

I was searching 2 days ago across my gmail to find a way to convert to Inbox and couldn't. Curious as well.

It all depends on number of active users

Microsoft onotomatop Dec 8, 2017

Does google tend to drop low user products prematurely?

Google arbitdude Dec 8, 2017

I wouldn't say prematurely, if it's stagnant, the try some pivots and then kill it

I love Inbox! It's all about staying at Inbox Zero. I started using it on my personal account when it first came out and I went back to the Gmail client after a couple weeks. However, When I started my new job, I tried it again. It's way more addicting and useful when you start using Inbox when you're already at (or close to) Inbox Zero, such as when you start a new job. I've been using it for about a year, now. I hope it stays! Great concept!

Best things about inbox: automatically grouping stuff. All my trips are easy to find (best feature ever), shopping, calendar events, etc. Reminders are cool but I don’t use them much. It’s pretty shit as a full featured email client. That said, the good definitely outweighs the bad

Oracle 9*kjdks Sep 14, 2018

What bad?

Apple ShteveFobs Dec 8, 2017

They literally moved the Inbox team over to Gmail. They’ll likely be using Inbox as a testing ground for Gmail features.
