I'll be joining SAP, Palo Alto as a developer. The recruiter tolde that life at SAP is much more than just work. Looking forward to hear from current employees about: 1. Work culture 2. Growth/ career progress - both position wise and salary wise. 3. Technologies (great/okayish/nah), Learning curve. Any comments would be helpful. Thanks!
That's pretty bold comment. I read on glassdoor that work life balance is good. Can you elaborate?
Glassdoor reviews are promoted. Some engineering teams really suck! Too many politics.
If you are Indian you'll do fine. If not run away
The work culture is well balanced. There are times that you will need to stretch yourself. People are generally good to work with. Experiences can differ team to team and org to org. You need to drive and own your own growth - at SAP it's very relationship based. Salary wise - you will do decent as a top performer, otherwise it's very middle of the road. Many stories of people leaving and coming back at higher pay grades. Technologies depend on your group, but SAP is in advanced tech for the enterprise, but there are still plenty of old school apps still in the portfolio.
Depends on the team and your manager.
