Hey Blind! I just completed an onsite loop at Amazon, and was contacted a few hours after I left the building with an email (and phone call that I missed) saying they were moving ahead with an offer. I know there are a lot of threads asking for TPM compensation, but I thought I'd toss out another since I am seeing a pretty wide range (180-250k). The position is for a Senior TPM in Seattle. I have ~8 years of experience managing large technical projects (most of those are not software related and the role is with Prime working with software teams) and a little over 20 years of general leadership and smaller programs. I also hold a masters in data science, engineering management, and a PMP. How low does the Senior TPM band go? The levels are not posted, so I am hoping it's not an L5 position. If I was contacted the same day, does that mean I did well at the interview, or that the team was just efficient? Or both? (I know this is a subjective question, but interested in any thoughts) Would 225k TC be a fair starting point? Have a phone call on Monday to discuss compensation with the recruiter so I suppose I could just wait, but was hoping to get a good, fair starting point that didn't offend the hiring manager. And for those that are interested, the people that I spoke with during the onsite were amazing, super chill, and very motivated. They all said they had great work life balance, and everyone I saw in the building was smiling and enthusiastic. I know this is only a quick snapshot, but the experience really made me want to be part of the team.
Senior TPM is Level 6. The band goes upto 280k. 210k would be lower end. The debrief happens within 5 days. In your case they might had the debrief planned same day. I would ask at the top of the band (>260k)! All the best.
L6 TPM maxes out at 255k TC what're you talking about?
Thank you! Very helpful.
