I see a few threads where recent immigrants try to imagine that their six figure TC makes them upper class, so I wanted to create a poll that will help these new folks figure out whether or not they are really upper class. You might be upper class if...
Point? 😂
what upper class? In the sense of social status or just income/assets? One can earn seven or eight figures but still have no class.
Just look at the classy posts on blind 😂
Why hating immigrants? Aren’t we all immigrants of some sort?
Most Americans like to think they’re “middle class” no matter how much they earn. Aristocracy is so 15th century Europe.
It is quite common for uneducated Americans, these flipping pancakes/burgers 8/7, to blame immigrants for their poor life choices.
I’m guessing you have a lot of interactions with these folks, right?
.....you don’t feel the need to stand on the toilet to piss AND wash your hands after you do without being on the phone the entire time.
Upper class is often defined by source of income (capital gains vs salary), prestige (politician or industry families are higher class than entertainers or engineers) and not by expenditures. Your qualifications are defining a subclass (the rich, or even richest of the rich), or “the donor class” when it comes to buying influence. I usually put myself in upper-middle class, and I have never paid more than $2000/night for a hotel room.
Agree. Upper middle is where people who get into the top 1% though salary are. Lower upper are people who have the same 1% standard of living during their working years, but from passive income--no need to work Agree that upper class is defined by influence in society, which really comes with an 0.01% income, not a 1% income. 1 in 10,000 is upper class, not 1 in 100.
I do fly Upper Class on Virgin Atlantic!!!!
All this complaining that the middle class is shrinking and behold, you have expanded it with a totally new definition. Problem solved!
😂
If a 1%er upper decks a toilet at work...they're still a 1%er Money can't buy class
I’d say none of those mean upper class. Those mean you’re in the top 1%. 6 figure incomes are typically considered upper class or upper middle, especially with two people earning that in the household. I mean, remember most of the country earns 30k or less. Sounds like you’re butthurt about something. TC under 100k? Lol.
1% is only about 450 / year, no way you could afford any of those things on that
Make that the top 0.1% then. Anyway my point was, if you’re pulling in 400k a year, you are upper class.
