When does Zillow starts the GC process after getting hired ? Day 1/6 months/1 year Thanks
Thanks . Did you work at Z or T ? I will be pushy for sure . Don’t have much time left .
Nope I did not, just judging from personal experience. One of the conditions I put before joining current gig is that they will do me a GC. My manager was great he himself was worrying about it and the company started the process after 3 months once they were sure in my performance
Datadog sure sounds like they have good managers
Day 1. No need to even be pushy. As soon as you tell your manager, the process gets started right away and you get periodic updates at each step of the process.
Legal is good in Zillow, you will have opportunity for 1 v 1 with legal, every 3 months should you wish. I doubt this will be a problem
Nice . Thanks .
In my case it was 3 months and I was told that's the policy. It may be different if the situation demands an earlier start
3 months for most cases. I’m a Zillow manager that did it for a few of my reports. Being pushy will not help. Doing a fantastic job will. You need to make your manager want to keep you. I was one of those that proactively followed up with Legal to make sure that my top performers would be able to stay. That said, I also terminated folks for poor performance despite having already started their GC process. Believe it or not, your manager has very little influence over the timeline so being an annoying little twerp won’t help, but they do have the final say on whether to proceed based on performance so kicking ass at your job will.
Thanks for the candor. Yes, ready to do a kickass job . Termination makes sense if you are not performing. GC should not be the reason for retaining people.
Policy is after 3 months with good performance. I'm a manager at Zillow.
Discuss this with your manager, you better be pushy than think that someone will take a look for you
