I was arrested for assault a few years ago. It went to trial, and I was found innocent. Will this information be provided to a company when they conduct a background check? I didnโt do anything wrong, but I feel embarrassed about the whole thing.
This will be there in background check.
yes, it will show up as the arrest and acquittal unless you can get it expunged which is really hard
If itโs in court records, it will be provided to the company.
If it's on the public court site, then yes it will be seen by a company or anyone.
I don't think it would be an official policy for rejection due to litigation reason. However they may want to know what happen from your point of view? Is it self defense or wrong guy, or the case dropped due to insufficient evidence, etc. They do not want something happen at work and then get sued by other employees, claiming that the employer didn't background check correctly.
Super easy to get that arrest record cleaned up, talk to a lawyer or use your friendly neighborhood search engine.
This information will definitely be provided. How many years ago was this and what state?
4 years ago in Texas
Texas has some interesting laws, so small chance they won't see it.. If they do - a friend of mine was in same situation. Once the company asked him about it, he actually hired a lawyer to draw up an explanation letter. In the end - he was hired.
