thinking of buying a new construction in seattle. do buyers agents give cashback and if so, how much? couple of them we asked said no. trying to figure out what the norm is.
In Seattle area generally it's 0.5% of sale price or 10% of what the agent makes. I would recommend find an agent who can negotiate well on your behalf than the one who gives you cashback. Now is a buyer's market so if your agent can negotiate down 10% list price that is lot more savings than cashback.
My agent is awesome. We did 3 transaction with her this year and she was consistently got us best deal through her amazing negotiation. Let me know if you are in Seattle area and you need a referral.
Why would she work on lowering the price when her commission is based on the sale price?
If a part of her commission is based on the how much she was able to negotiate, it makes sense.
