how should i approach getting a corp finance job. current getting my mba with a concentration in finance. i am current a data analyst and have no previous finance background. also i am currently in austin
I would say 60-70 for entry level. FP&A would be a good area to get into in terms of learning quickly and the skills are transferable between industries.
This is not accurate for post MBA salary. 80-90K is typical.
If it's entry level in Austin, I don't think it would go above 70k base. You have to consider that though MBA is good to have but experience would matter more unless MBA is from Wharton type University.
FP&A would be a good starting point.
FP&A is great if you want to do accounting the rest of your career but if you want to do M&A do NOT take an accounting job.
I'd start with oncampus recruitment and your career services.
Any insight to what a finance role in a tech company is like starting off? Salary expectations? Work life?
No idea about Texas. TC for entry level Corp Finance roles at Google in the Bay Area start at $100-120K and go up from there.
