i’ve an offer from apple but being provided with a counter offer from intel for managing IP team ( starting with acting manager) and then coverting to full time, also intel will match package etc just want to get opinions from folks here on these choices

run away from intel.. counter is always blessing in disguise. the question should now be how much trust do u have on ur management? if u dont, dont take. counter is always viewed as short term solution by the management. the relationship break. so think carefully.
But will they match the large RSU refreshers that Apple provides?
At Apple u will do engineering. And its gonna be a lot of work. A lot. Most managers and leads there shit themselves when someone pulls up anything other than mac mail or keynote.
How is WLB in soc verification team
Everything under asic at apple has terrible wlb and they have a rep for it. You are looking at a solid 60h/week and expected to work weekends and vacations on a lot of occasions. Rare exceptions of course but usually for tenured ppl who have been there 5+ yrs.
There are ups and downs but 60h/week is not the norm
Is it common for intel to match Apple offers? Base match seems very possible but do they also match the initial RSUs ? Even for the most critical talent, I have heard of intel countering only with a tiny increase
I think this is all on need basis , intel can’t afford to loose talent as well, if I don’t see good numbers from them I’ll leave
I would taper expectation. Everyone I know who moved to Apple went through the same disappointing experience. If Intel matches your offer, then I would think Apple’s low balling you. Make sure to take Intel’s new nos back to Apple to maximize your Apple TC.
I think apple's stock refreshers are a big factor to consider
What is your intel grade level ? If you are g10 and already have some intc stocks from before you will be making more than ITC4. You need to ask Apple to bump you up to ITC5 which is really equivalent to intels G10 and pays better too Also for me personally $1 cash != 1 RSU dollar.
