if a company is based in ny, it asks questions like basic oop and java. most dont event expect you to know algo. what kind of contributions can you make knowing only intro to cs stuff?
FB's interview loop was WAY harder in NY vs SF for a senior position
FB is considered SF based since it has HQ there.
Ah sure, NYC based companies are lower-end. Best bet is to go for satellite offices.
Try Jane Street, might be harder:)
Hope you know OCaml!
I'm pretty sure there's no correlation between interview difficulty and location, assuming the location is a major city with no dearth of talent.
Talent does vary by city.
I can give you a basic problem to solve and you can do that. People aren't only testing the knowledge you have (not much as a fresh grad) but also how you approach problems and get over hurdles.
