gold diggers

tech people with high TC, when someone shows interest in you, are you worried they’re after your $?

Has that ever affected potential friendships or relationships from happening? Has the thought ever crossed your mind?

Would you care if they’re friends/lovers that initially were drawn to you because of that but do not use you for money? Or, do you not even care if you are used as long as you have that friendship or relationship?

edit; many people have assumed I am in tech in a tech role even though it says HR in my user. I do not have high TC and am merely wondering if people who do make more than 70k ever worry about people wanting them for money.

I might edit my post and be clear that I’m not in tech. It’s just something I’m curious about from when I dated people in tech. My bf doesn’t think like that and knows I’m not after his money but I was curious if tech people ever have those thoughts.

“So what do you do for work?” combined with a Glassdoor account can get you the pay grade for most people

Get a low TC job. Then you don’t have to worry about this. Trust me, I have experience here.

i live in a shitty country where HR and tech workers make the same.
Hopefully I can move out or get a better job.

That said, nothing wrong with being a gold digger. Women are attracted to successful men..

Gold digger would be if you marry some ugly 70 year old billionaire and divorce him after 1 year.

The better I dress, the more I work out, and the more I smile and listen to people, the more they hang out with me for my TC.

I assume you cannot avoid the fact that women are more attracted to people making more money, I think it may however be due to the traits that come with success - determination, having purpose etc. that may still be OK for you, not sure. Sometime it may only give you extra leverage and on the other it may be the sole purpose of the relationship. You likely have to just feel it and see. For me personally, i dont like spending on luxuries up to a point I see it useless and in general only see money as a tool to make things happen and change. If she would have different opinion I maybe naively believe I would be able to spot it and our personalities would clash

It’s in your mind. I don’t felt that way. Even if they use you it’s okay and you might also need help from them time to time.
